To our museum
friends,
2007 has
been incredible year thanks to MANY friends of the museum!!
We
have secured several multiple year donors that have helped put
us on a much more stable financial field.
We received a special allocation from Sheboygan/Plymouth Area
United Way making it possible for those receiving public assistance
to take part in everything that we do at Above & Beyond.
We
had an exhibit from NASA, Houston on display for 3 months.
We
now offer 12 different educational programs to schools scheduling
field trips.
Cheryl
Rivas, Educational Director and I participate in educational programs
through the Association of Children's Museums helping us reach
out to a very diverse population including autistic children.
Our
museum membership now boasts over 500 families - increased from
less than 100 just 4 years ago.
As we begin
planning for 2008 we are excited about our new partnership with
the Sheboygan Area School District. Above & Beyond Children's Museum
will be the 'home' of a "reusable resource center". This will be
a resource for educators as well as artists from throughout the
area. Educational programs will be offered as part of this new partnership.
Seen throughout the nation, this will be the first such center in
the State of Wisconsin. Partnered, we will be able to promote a
new level of 'hands-on' learning.
As we plan
for our 10th year operating from downtown Sheboygan this year we
will be able to boast having had over 250,000 visitors. All this
is not possible without donors such as you. Help us create more
expressions of discovery as you see in the photo in the upper right heading. As
you consider a year end gift, please help us grow to our full potential.
