We will be joining schools in temporary closure due to the COVID-19 outbreak

Hello Above & Beyond Children’s Museum community. Emily Rendall-Araujo here, Executive Director.

After much discussion among the leadership team at the museum, including our staff and the board of directors, we have agreed to close the museum effective this evening until further notice due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Please know that this decision was not made lightly, and we made it with the health and safety of our guests as the first priority. The COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we’ve experienced in our lifetimes, and we are deferring to the experts to lead us in our response. We know that at this time, social distancing is the #1 one thing that we can do to slow the spread of this viral infection.

Your children’s development and education is incredibly important to us, as is the mental health of their caregivers. While we cannot welcome you into the physical museum space, our team is developing a plan to best support you virtually. Please watch our website at abkids.org, our Instagram, and our Facebook pages for updates and suggested activities you can do with your children at home while maintaining a safe distance from others. We are also investigating the option of offering some of our regular programming virtually, including the First Steps in Music Program that I lead. These activities will kick off by Wednesday, when Wisconsin schools will close.

Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this situation. Be safe, be well, and wash your hands.
