Cardboard Creations

Saw, shape, build, and create! In this exciting hands on program kids and caregivers create imaginative cardboard designs while exploring math concepts like symmetry, shape, and spatial reasoning through hands-on play.

Included with regular museum admission, this program is part of our ongoing Nurturing Numeracy Skills and Math Literacy Project—where early math learning takes shape through hands-on making and discovery.

ABCM is proud to be a part of a national initiative supported by the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and Simon’s Foundation to promote early math learning and confidence-building through playful, engaging museum experiences. As a partner in this initiative, we are creating and testing hands-on experiences that help families explore math in ways that are meaningful, joyful, and confidence-building!

This collaboration brings together museum educators, math learning researchers, and families to spark a love of numbers and problem-solving in everyday play. Our team is excited to introduce the beginning of our pilot projects- each focused on helping children and caregivers explore math concepts together through making, tinkering, and imaginative play.
