Cardboard Creations
Saw, shape, build, and create! Cardboard Creations is a hands-on maker program for children ages 2–8 and the grown-ups who create alongside them.
Using cardboard as their canvas, young makers are invited to dream up, design, and build creations all their own. Along the way, children experiment with kid-friendly tools and explore concepts like shape, symmetry, measurement, balance, and spatial reasoning through hands-on play.
From big ideas to unexpected inventions, Cardboard Creations gives kids the freedom to problem-solve, take creative risks, and discover just how much possibility can be packed into a simple piece of cardboard.

ABCM is proud to be a part of a national initiative supported by the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and Simon’s Foundation to promote early math learning and confidence-building through playful, engaging museum experiences. As a partner in this initiative, we are creating and testing hands-on experiences that help families explore math in ways that are meaningful, joyful, and confidence-building!
This collaboration brings together museum educators, math learning researchers, and families to spark a love of numbers and problem-solving in everyday play. Our team is excited to introduce the beginning of our pilot projects- each focused on helping children and caregivers explore math concepts together through making, tinkering, and imaginative play.
