ChompSaw Workshop

Saw, shape, build, and create with ChompSaws! Kids and caregivers create imaginative cardboard designs while exploring math concepts like symmetry, shape, and spatial reasoning through hands-on play.

Each 30-minute session includes all the tools and safety gear kids need to create and learn in a fun, safe environment. Included with regular museum admission, this program is part of our ongoing Nurturing Numeracy Skills and Math Literacy Project—where early math learning takes shape through hands-on making and discovery.

ABCM is proud to be a part of a national initiative supported by the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and Simon’s Foundation to promote early math learning and confidence-building through playful, engaging museum experiences. As a partner in this initiative, we are creating and testing hands-on experiences that help families explore math in ways that are meaningful, joyful, and confidence-building!

This collaboration brings together museum educators, math learning researchers, and families to spark a love of numbers and problem-solving in everyday play. Our team is excited to introduce the beginning of our pilot projects- each focused on helping children and caregivers explore math concepts together through making, tinkering, and imaginative play.
