Playlabs
Step into the Wonder Workshop, a hands-on maker space where children explore, experiment, and create! Our Maker Spaces invite kids to dive into art-making, science experiments, and tinkering with loose parts- sparking curiosity, imagination, and problem-solving.
Museum educators guide children through a mix of structured projects and open-ended play, letting each child follow their interests while developing new skills. Whether designing miniature worlds, building with recycled materials, or experimenting with natural elements, young inventors, artists, and scientists bring their ideas to life!
Play Labs are included with museum admission and welcome children of all ages and abilities. Registration is not required- drop in anytime!

March 20th- Spring Garden Art Lab

Celebrate the first signs of spring in this hands-on, collaborative art project! Children will work together on a large paper canvas, using paint, bubble wrap, and natural tools like pine cones, twigs, and leaves to create a whimsical early spring garden. There’s no right or wrong way to paint! This playful exploration encourages creativity, teamwork, and a joyful connection with nature, even while the chill of winter lingers outside.

March 27th- Rainbow Suncatchers Art Lab

Children will create their own sparkling rainbow suncatchers, choosing from materials like tissue paper, beads, or other colorful, translucent elements. Each child can design their suncatcher with their own colors and patterns, making a unique, light-catching creation. This project encourages creativity and exploration of color, texture, and light. By the end, everyone will have a bright, cheerful rainbow to take home and display.

April 3rd - Fizzy Planet Science Lab

Step into the Earth Lab, where young scientists explore the planet in a hands-on, fizzy way! Kids will create their own bubbling Earth-inspired models using baking soda and vinegar, experimenting with reactions while learning about the forces and processes that shape our world. This playful, science-driven activity encourages curiosity, observation, and discovery as they watch their creations come to life.

April 10th - Earth Day Art Studio

Step into the Earth Day Studio, where creativity meets sustainability and imaginations take root! Young artists will transform everyday scraps and found materials into collaborative works of art, painting, gluing, and experimenting with textures and colors along the way. With open ended materials and plenty of room for exploration, children are free to make their own creative choices. There’s no right way to create, just playful discovery, teamwork, and the joy of turning reused items into something beautiful together.

May 1st - Felt in Bloom Art Studio

Celebrate the beauty of spring by making your own felt creation! Using wet felting techniques children will craft a handmade fiber piece with swirling colors and all of the spring vibes.

May 15th - Buzz & Blooms Science Lab

Step into the Buzz & Blooms Lab, where young scientists explore pollinators, farms, and the magic of nature! Kids will experiment with a flower lab, creating paper blooms and discovering how they change color, while investigating cause and effect in playful, hands-on ways. Using everyday materials and open-ended prompts, participants can test idea and make discoveries. This session combines curiosity, creativity, and science to celebrate the wonders of flowers, bees, and the natural world.

May 29th - Petals & Pollinators Art Studio

Step into Petals & Pollinators Studio, where the magic of flowers, bees, and springtime play inspires every creation! Young artists will craft colorful blooms, buzzing bumblebees, and other garden friends, exploring how they interact in a lively, imaginative world. With a variety of materials to experiment with, children can mix textures, layer colors, and shape their ideas in open-ended ways. There’s no right way to create here, just playful exploration, choice, and joyful discovery. Along the way, participants may also contribute to collaborative projects, growing a vibrant, blooming world together.
